St Edward's Representative Shirts

Please keep a lookout for these in your cupboards, school bags, dirty clothes baskets, even under beds. We are still missing a considerable amount of shirts which will be required to be handed back in this term.

Polding Athletics Championships

Last Friday saw ten St Edward's students participate in the Polding Athletics Championships in Homebush, Sydney. Our students were amazing. Everyone gave 110% and not only represented our school with pride, but our diocese as well. A special mention to Aria Sutherland for placing 3rd in the 100m event, which earnt her a spot in the Polding Team. This is a massive achievement for anyone, especially an 8yr old. Truly incredible.

Basketball 2023 Summer Comp

Basketball will resume today. Please see draw attached.

Swimming

Lucie Purkiss (6J) competed in the first carnival of the new swimming season on the long weekend in Port Macquarie at the Long Course Qualifying Meet. This was a 2 day carnival.

Lucie achieved PB's in every race she competed in. Competing in the 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle, 200IM (PB of 19seconds) 200 Freestyle (PB of 12 seconds) 100 Freestyle and she competed in the 100m Butterfly for the first time and came 6th in the open division, competing against all ages. This is a massive achievement as this was the first time competing this race. Her PBs ranged from 5 to 19 seconds.

Following this the club held its presentation day last Sunday. Lucie received the 11yr Age Champion runner up and her family received the Family Support Trophy! This is awarded to the family that goes above and beyond for the swimming club.  Lucie is ready for a big season of swimming and aiming to compete at the country and state championships in February 2024.

Cricket

Please see below your team for the upcoming season starting this Saturday 21st October.

The team has had to be merged due to numbers.

A couple of things to remember:

  • The kids will need to wear full protective gear as per the rules.
  • As a minimum, all teams will require 1 set of spring back stumps & boundary cones for the match.
  • I will get the score book & match balls to Hayley Bullock this week, match balls should last for 2 matches.
  • Volunteers will be required to manage/coach/umpire and a score.
  • The draw is now on PlayHQ and the Playcricket app.
  • See attached rules for stage 1 cricket.
