R.E. NEWS

World Mission Month - October

Children’s Mission - Catholic Mission

Locally and globally, we answer the call to love God and love our neighbour, and work to establish the reign of God through serving those in need, acting for justice and creation. During October it is World Mission month.

At St Edward’s School we invite all students to be involved in our fundraising. We will have FREE HAT FRIDAY on Friday 20th October, Week 2 (please send in a gold coin donation) and CRAZY SOCK DAY on Wednesday 25th October, Week 3 (this is Children’s Mission Day, please send in a gold coin donation for Catholic Mission). We have a goal of $1,000 to help communities in need. Thank you for your support!

Friday - 20/10/23  We ask that students wear their normal sport uniform and a hat of their choice.

Wednesday - 25/10/23 - We ask that students wear their normal sport uniform and a pair of crazy socks.

Family Mass - K, 3 & 6 - World Mission Sunday

This Sunday 22nd October (World Mission Sunday) we invite all families to attend our first Family Mass for the term. It is at 9.00am at Mary Help of Christians Church, Hillvue Road. Everyone is then invited to stay and share Morning Tea provided by families from Kindergarten, Year 3 and Year 6.  It is a wonderful parish morning and we hope that you are able to join us.

Praying the Rosary

October is the month of the Rosary. The Rosary is a traditional Catholic prayer reflecting on the lives of Jesus and Mary. Students will be praying the Rosary in class each day during the month of October.

LIBRARY NEWS

Thankyou to all our parents and school community that supported our Book Fair. It was a huge success and thanks to your support we will be able to purchase new books that interest and inspire our lucky students.

Early Bird Reading Club

Please remind your child that the Early Bird Reading Club is on each day from 8.30am. This is an opportunity for students to get in some valuable quiet reading time. Every chance to read personal choice books can only help reading development and building reading abilities.
