I am Running Against Violence

1 in 3 women has experienced physical violence since the age of 15. If you have been lucky enough not to have experienced family violence yourself, you most certainly know someone who has.  This is a massive problem in the Gippsland area, and here in Bass Coast, the prevalence of family violence is more than double the state average! Run Against Violence has partnered with the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect. Together they aim to improve education in schools about what a healthy relationship should look like and provide other community focused projects where people can listen, learn and talk.  Let's work together to put an end to family violence!

Today I join many others in the Run Against Violence. I know times are tough at the moment and we all have our favourite charities we support, but please have a conversation and share the message that family violence is not acceptable. Call it out and get support. Key support services include: The National Sexual Assault, Domestic Family Violence Counselling Service 1800RESPECT ( 1800 737 732). Safe Steps family Violence Response Centre 1800 015 188. The Orange Door 1800 339 100.
