The Patch Program

Term 4, Week 2

In the garden had a very busy start to Term 4, with the Grade 1 and 2’s starting to prepare the garden beds and plant out the first of our summer veges. We had fantastic germination rate of our seeds thanks to all that lovely early warm weather we’ve had! We should have an amazing assortment of yummy veges in the next few months.

The potatoes we planted last term are coming up, and the broad beans we planted ages ago are now taller than most of the 1/2’s and starting to produce pods.

We also picked lots and lots of snow peas and sugar snap peas and ate them! Some of the students were really surprised you could eat the whole thing!

In the kitchen we have been making pizza scrolls with all the lovely silver beet growing in the Patch. They’ve been very tasty!
