Year 3 Excursion

Tuesday 3rd October 2023 Year 3 Excursion

Our Trip to Werribee Zoo

In the cold breeze air will the kids handle it in there?

(Favor)

On Tuesday the Year 3’s went to Werribee Zoo. It was a long drive to get there because of the traffic jam and the rain.

(Aleahya)

When we got there Miss Feddersen got our tickets. Then a girl named Shau took us to talk about predators and prey.

(Natasha)

Here we saw a skull of a dead zebra

(Grace) we felt the skull of meerkat, lion and African wild dog. Then we went to a place to see the lions, lionesses and their cubs. It took a long time to see the lions because they had to fix the enclosure, so we had our lunch. When we finished our lunch…………

Woooooooooooooo

Ooooosh! The lion, lionesses and three cubs came and ate the kangaroo meat.  The three cubs tried to steal the meat from each other. In the middle of it, the daddy lion pee peed. ( Sofia )

Then we rushed to board our African safari tour. We saw  rhinos, giraffes and other animals (Pavlyn) and maybe goats too. I might have seen a hippo, but I don’t know for sure.

We saw Camels and Zebras too.  ( Harry)

We also went to see the rhinos and learnt they couldn’t see because they’re blind, but they have excellent hearing. ( Matej )

After the safari ride, we went in the cheetah exhibition to see a cheetah named Kelinda. The cheetah keeper told us about the features of the cheetah like twisting and turning themselves when they run.

Later, we went to some cottages/old houses. There was an old cottage where they sheared wool from the sheep.

Before we left, we saw the gorillas. There was a gorilla staring at us and there was one relaxing. (Ilion)

Matej and I were running around and having fun before we went to see the gorilla who wanted to go to his shelter because it was raining a bit. Before he entered the shelter the gorilla went to the bathroom. (Shadrack)

Finally, it was time to leave, we went back to school on the same bus again.

We really enjoyed our trip to Werribee Zoo. I can’t wait to learn more about these animals.
