Year 3 Poem

On Tuesday afternoon the Year 3 students collaborated to construct a Diamante Poem based on an animal. The Lion was chosen as it was the text earlier in the day for one of the reading groups. 

In small groups students came up with words which followed a specific process - including nouns, adjectives and verbs. After sharing all the words one person was selected to choose the words for each line that resonated with them. It was great that a couple of words were new vocabulary that some of the children had learned just that morning.

After completing the poem we headed into the Art Room to produce an art piece with a fork as our paint brush. 

It was great to share some time with the Year 3s and see how creative they are with words and the visual medium.
