Principal's News
Welcome back to Term Four.
Two weeks ago in the gospel, we hear about a seemingly unfair scenario where two servants are paid a wage for a days work, yet one is paid a wage for just a short block of work. This Gospel passage speaks to the inequity in society everyday. We have a choice in this though, one to complain. The other is to accept the situation, and to continue to make the best of what life offers.
The author Scott Peck wrote, “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult-once we truly understand and accept it-then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.”
The Gospel really speaks to this statement, you could say Jesus was well ahead of his time, or maybe that the lessons Jesus taught are as relevant today as they ever have been. This doesn't mean we can not advocate for change, for a fairer system, yet we must do so whilst appreciating what we have and celebrating our blessings, being grateful.
The students at this school are a shining example of the above, and what they continue to teach me everyday.
