Assembly

On the first day of Term 4 (16 October) we will be holding a Morris Assembly in The Farrall Centre. The assembly will commence at 2.15pm on Monday afternoon. We welcome families to attend.

Years 7-8 2024 Parents Information Evening - Save the Date

24 October

On Tuesday 24 October the school will be hosting an information Evening for parents of children attending Years 7-8 in 2024. We highly recommend that all parents attend this event.

Years 3-6, Morris Athletics Carnival

Thursday 19 October

The Morris Athletics Carnival will be held on Thursday 19 October at the Domain Athletics Centre for all students in Years 3-6. Students are required to make their own way to the Domain by 9.00am, with supervision provided from 8.15am. The carnival concludes at 3.00pm. Students need to be picked up promptly by 3.10pm. Please advise the Morris Office if your child will not be picked up by that time as they will walk back to school with class teachers. It is essential that we know which students are walking to arrange appropriate supervision. Programs will be sent home prior to the carnival. Year 2 Excursion - Morris Athletics Carnival

Thursday 19 October

As part of integrating the Year 2 students into Year 3 and Walpole experiences, Year 2 have been invited to attend the Year 3-6 Morris Athletics Carnival on Thursday 19 October. Year 2 will leave school by bus after lunch at 11.00am and travel to the Domain Athletics Centre. On arrival, they will be able to cheer on some of the track and field events that various year levels will be participating in at this time. Year 2 students will then join in with one of the novelty events, the sack race, and then watch the older children participate in the annual peace pull, House versus House. Year 2 will then leave the Domain at 1.00pm and return to school. Students are required to wear their sports uniform and ensure they have packed a drink bottle and a hat. Canteen orders can still be made on this day as we will not be eating at the venue. Families are welcome to meet us at the Domain if they would like to attend.

Grandparents and Older Friends’ Day

Tuesday 24 October

Grandparents and Older Friends’ Day will be held on Tuesday 24 October. The day will include outside learning displays, music performances and a light morning tea.

This year the event will be ticketed and will take place in the school grounds over separate sessions:

Kindergarten guests will gather in the Kindergarten grounds from 9.00-9.45am.
Prep - Year 2 guests will gather behind the Wells classrooms from 9.00-9.45am.
Years 3 - 6 guests will meet outside the Walpole area between 9.45-11.00am.
Morning tea for all visitors will be outside The Farrall Centre from 9.30-10.30am.

We will be offering a shuttle bus service from the Hobart Hockey Centre, Bell Street. Please make sure to book a separate ticket for this if you would like to book this service. If you have any queries or specific requirements please contact the Morris Office on 6210 2228.

Absentees

If your child will be absent from school for the day please advise the Morris Office (phone: 6210 2228, or email: morrisadmin@friends.tas.edu.au ) and the classroom teacher before 9.00am. We appreciate your support in this process.
