Huon Valley bus transport
There has been some updates shared with us regarding third party student bus services to the Huon and surrounding areas. Roberts Coaches no longer service this area and it is now managed by Coal River Coaches.
If you are looking for student bus services and are located in the Huon area, including Cygnet, Geeveston, Judbury, Huonville and Ranelagh you can find more information here.
School Office Closures
The School Main Reception will be closed in the first week of term break (Monday 2 to Friday 6 October). The School will be operational and working with contractors, however, families, guests and visitors are welcome to visit the School from Monday 9 October 2023.
Term 4 Start Date - Monday 16 October
A reminder that all students will start Term 4 on Monday 16 October.
School Shop Update and Re-open Date
As per the email sent last week, some important information regarding the School Shop:
- The School Shop will be closed from Friday 29 September to Monday 30 October (inclusive). Any uniform required for the start of Term 4 will need to be purchased before the end of this term, with the last trading day for this term being Thursday 28 September.
- The Shop will re-open on Tuesday 31 October and continue to operate in its existing location, providing uniform fittings, advice and continuing high-quality service.
- The trading hours of our on-campus store will increase from Tuesday 31 October, with the new hours being: 8am to 5pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during term times.
- A new online ordering system will also be available as an option for families and this be ready to receive orders from Tuesday 31 October. In-store uniform fittings will be available to current and new families from mid-November.
Secondhand uniform will not be sold in the Shop from February 2024. The Shop has now ceased accepting secondhand uniform stock for resale. There is however a Facebook group page available for buying and selling secondhand uniform. Please contact t
Friends' Food Festival
The School invites Friends' community members to our upcoming Friends' Food Festival, to be held 4.30pm-7pm on Saturday 25 November.

Withdrawals for 2024
We would like to remind all families that if your child is not returning to Friends’ in 2024 the procedure to withdraw a student is to provide one term’s notice in writing, via letter or email addressed to the Principal Nelson File. Therefore, notice is due by the final day of Term 3, 2023. If notification is received after this day, one term's fees in lieu of the notice period will be applied. Quaker Meetings for Worship
All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.
Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.

Thursday Morning Meeting for Worship
Members of The Friends' School community are welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time, starting at 7.45am. Just come quietly in when you can and join us until 8.20am in the Hobart Quaker Meeting House, which is located just below the Clemes office on Boa Vista Road.
Community Yoga
An inspiring way to start your day with energising movement, focused breathing and a moment for relaxation and stillness. All members of the school community are welcome to attend our Wednesday morning sessions from 7.45 - 8.15am in The Farrall Centre. Mats provided. Please feel free to come at any time.
