Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Staff 

As we approach the end of another action-packed term, I want to highlight and celebrate the incredible achievements of our students and faculties. Our school community continues to shine, highlighting talent, creativity, and teamwork. 

🌟 Wonderful Year 12! 🌟

A huge shoutout to our incredible Year 12 students! Your relentless dedication to your studies and commitment to fostering a positive school culture has truly made a difference. Our student leadership team has left an inspiring legacy by creating House groups that promote teamwork and belonging throughout our school community.

We can’t wait to celebrate these remarkable young people at the Valedictory assembly!

Every year our staff and students go head-to-head in a sports competition known as the Eagle Cup, an institution at ASC which builds relationships across our school. Sorry students, the staff took out this year’s win. There is always next year! (But not likely… 😉) 

🌟 Outstanding Achievement in Science! 🌟

Our science faculty continues to shine with ASC achievement as part of the International Chemistry Quiz. This a global competition designed to test students' knowledge and understanding of chemistry concepts, participants typically tackle a variety of questions that cover topics such as chemical reactions, the periodic table, organic chemistry, and real-world applications of chemistry. I would also like to extend our proudest congratulations to Lilly Maxwell, who achieved a High Distinction! This is truly a remarkable accomplishment reflects Lilly’s dedication and passion for the subject. I would also like to congratulate those students who were awarded Distinctions; Edward Rowe-Dawson, Brendan Pearson, Marley Doak, Noel Arafat. ASC are incredibly proud of our students’ success and of the opportunities we provide for our students. 

🌟Celebrating PDHPE  🌟

I am thrilled to highlight the outstanding efforts of our PDHPE faculty who recently organized the Year 10 Dance Competition. It was inspiring to see students express themselves through movement and embracing their creativity. A big thank you to our teachers for their dedication in guiding and encouraging our dancers, also showing off their own talent to everyone who participated, everyone making this event a memorable one! 

 🌟CAPA Showcase: Celebrating HSC Achievement  🌟

Congratulations to all Year 12 students in CAPA subjects! Major works have been completed and mostly marked. Our MADe_IT night was a tremendous success, showcasing the exceptional talents of our students in Music, Art, Design, Drama, and IT.

We are thrilled to announce that two of our Year 12 music students, Oscar Gates and Michi Takayama, have received Encore nominations. This prestigious recognition offers them the opportunity to perform in Sydney alongside the most outstanding music students from across NSW. We wish them the best of luck!

 🌟Year 12 Ezidi TAFE Yes+ Program  🌟

15 Year 12 students successfully completed the Yes+ program at the Armidale TAFE Campus. This program involved students attending TAFE on Fridays to experience a range of subjects TAFE have on offer and to raise awareness of post-school pathways, preparing all our students for life beyond school. This program is a crucial collaboration between TAFE Armidale and Armidale Secondary College, which has been operating since Term 4 2023. TAFE, or Technical and Further Education, plays a vital role in the education and training landscape, particularly in Armidale. Since this program started, there has been keen interest in studying at TAFE with students attending TAFE after finishing Year 12 to continue to improve their English and engage in a study program that interests them. We aim to offer this program again soon to Stage 5 students.

As we continue to foster a culture of achievement and creativity, I encourage all students to get involved in upcoming events and activities. Whether through sports, the arts, or academic pursuits, there are endless opportunities at ASC. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.
