Student Wellbeing

We can’t believe that it is already week 5! What a busy start to the it has been. Below is a great reminder of the important role consistent and regular attendance makes for students in their education journey. We hope that some nicer weather makes getting out of bed and coming to school just that little bit easier! If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance please make contact with their Advisory Teacher. This can help families and teacher work together to ensure that all students are given the best opportunities.

Smile Squad

The Smile Squad Dental Van is running ahead of schedule and will be on site at Charlton College from Monday 19th of August. The Van will be parked in the stadium car park until the conclusion of treatments. Please be mindful that this will limit parking and visibility during this time. We ask that you consider this when collecting children. If you would like your child/ren to use this service consent forms are available from the front office or by using the QR code provided in this newsletter. If you have any further questions about this service please contact Jess McGurk at the College.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all families to access free dental services. Below is the link to a QR code for families to fill in a consent form for their child/ren to access this service. Paper copies are also available at the front office. If you would like any assistance in completing the consent form, please don’t hesitate to contact Jess or Tash.

How to access free dental care

We need your consent before we can provide services. Consent is usually provided by a

parent or guardian.

Sign up to Smile Squad at: https://bit.ly/smilesquadvic

OR use the below QR code

Paper copies of the consent form have been sent home with all primary students. Please contact the school office if you would like to request one for your secondary student.

The electronic consent form can be translated into more than 100 languages, and the paper form is currently available in 13 languages.

Do I need to attend my child’s appointment?

No, you do not need to attend your child’s appointment. You can attend if you would like to, and you can take your child to the community dental clinic if you prefer.

Appointments can be arranged before or after school should this be more convenient.

Please keep your phone handy during the Smile Squad visit should the Team need to contact you regarding your child during their visit.

If you would like any further information please contact Jess McGurk at the College.

Breakfast Club

We’d also like to take the time to remind families of the Breakfast Club Program that runs twice a week. On Wednesday and Friday mornings in the canteen Danielle and Tash have on offer toast, fruit, milos and on Friday’s Danielle’s specialty jaffles along with fruit and milo. Breakfast Club is open from 8:30am.
