2025 Foundation Testing dates

Foundation students do not attend school on Wednesdays for the first 6 weeks. On these dates, your child will be asked to attend some 1:1 testing with their teacher. This is a lovely opportunity for teacher and student to get to know one another a little better. There is no need to prepare for this testing as it is simply a gauge of 'school readiness', we expect that students come to school with a wide range of knowledge and experience so do not worry. Some students know some letters and sounds, whilst some students just know the letters in their name.

This break in the week also assists with ensuring students are well-rested and able to cope with the change that attending school brings. We encourage you to let them rest and recover on these days - it's hard work with all the new learning and changes. We often encourage families to consider limiting out of school commitments during first term of Foundation, as 'learning how to learn' takes up a lot of energy!

The dates affected will be  -

Wednesday 29th Jan 2025

Wednesday 5th Feb 2025

Wednesday 12th Feb 2025

Wednesday 19th Feb 2025

Wednesday 26th Feb 2025

Wednesday 5th March 2025

Students will begin full-time school in the week ending 10th March 2025.
