We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future. We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
It has been another fantastic term here at Kalinda and I would like to thank all the staff, students, and families for your contribution to learning, well-being, and fun throughout the term.
This term we have had two camps, an Athletics Day, swimming, PrintAcar challenge, our Kalinda Olympics and countless other fun events. We still have our Footy Maths Day, School Disco day, and the State School Spectacular Choir in the last few weeks of this term.
Next term we have a lot on the calendar. Please make sure you check the 'Save the Date' page in the newsletter to make sure you are up to date. Some of the highlights in Term 4 include our Branch Out Study Tour to Japan, Year 2 Day Camp, Christmas Carols and of course our Year 6 Graduation.
Please also note we have Parent-Teacher interviews (student-free day) on Monday 7th October. Please see Mrs Hopkins' page for further details.
Please see the important information on the 'School Saving Bonus' page in this newsletter for important information about this new initiative. Please take note of the required actions.
In Term 4 all students will need to wear a hat that protects their face, neck, and ears. This can be a broad-brimmed hat (such as our school hat) or a legionnaire's hat. Any student not wearing a hat when outside will have to go undercover to be in the shade.
We are really looking forward to Megumi returning to Kalinda in Term 4. We have some host families already organised (thank you so much), and are asking if there are any other families available to host Megumi between the start of November and mid-December.
If you are interested in doing so, please contact White sensei via email: jessica.white@education.vic.gov.au
We are kind. We are resilient. We are respectful.
