What's coming Up

Kate Whitford

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This week is 'Bullying No Way Week'. We have been running classroom activities and discussions around this years theme 'Everyone belongs'. Encouraging inner strength, embracing who we are, respecting everyone's differences and standing up together against unkindness. Inclusion and belonging means we all have a role in preventing bullying. We're encouraged to speak up and create a safe place where everyone feels supported and respected, and our voices are heard and valued. The key messages promote inclusion, respect and belonging. Many students have been busy working on posters to promote this message.

Term 3 Class Captains

Each class has nominated two class captains for term 3. Captains have the responsibility of reporting to me at our meeting several times during the term after holding their own class meeting. We discuss the classrooms, the yard and any thoughts and ideas students have for improving our school.

Stranger awareness

With the weather warming up and the daylight hours extending, now is the perfect time to remind children about the importance of staying safe around others, particularly strangers. Below are some handy tips to share-

  1. Keep your distance and never go anywhere with someone you don't know.
  2. Don't believe what strangers tell you.
  3. Don't accept gifts, treats, or lollies from a stranger.
  4. Never tell a stranger your name or address.
