Assistant Principal's Report
Book Week
We have had such an exciting week. From Monday there was a buzz in the air as the students began whispering about their Book Week costume, even the staff at our Monday night meeting were busily organising what to wear.
It was so lovely seeing all the costumes and the different characters on Tuesday morning and despite the weather, we had a wonderful parade. At one stage I did think I was working at Hogwarts! The students continued their conversations about books and authors in class by with sharing the costumes and the characters they had chosen as well reading the nominated Children’s Book Council award books and participating in activities based on these books.
Next week we have two wonderful Authors (Davina Bell and Nat Amoore) visiting us and sharing their journey and stories with the students.
Athletics day
Athletics day was a great success. A huge thank you to Ben for organising the event and the teachers for supporting it. We couldn’t have picked a better day for the event, the grade 4 to 6 students had a wonderful time. This morning a few of them were walking very slowly to class and when I questioned them they replied “our muscles worked too hard yesterday!”
Student Free days
Just a reminder that Monday August 26 and Tuesday August 27 are student free days. Their Care is running and has available spaces if you would like to utilise their services.
Have a wonderful weekend.
