Principal's Message

Mr Forrest

Book Week - Reading Olympics Finale

We were privileged to have our Reading Olympics Patron, Stuart Tripp, former Australian Para Olympian and author, present to hand out awards at the Book Week Parade and Olympics Finale today. Stuart also delivered three excellent presentations to students throughout the morning.  Stuart had a simple life message for students by reminding them that 'you never stop learning' and also his main message was to be successful in life 'you need to turn up.'   It doesn't matter if you know that you haven't prepared for a test or your sports team will be beaten, or you know you will fail at something, you still need to 'turn up!'  In essence, if you don't turn up you have automatically failed, therefore you have no chance.  Stuart had to compete for over eight years before he won a race, but he kept turning up and as a result became a world champion and silver medalist at the Para Olympics.

Well done to everyone who participated strongly in the Reading Olympics.  Thanks to Mr Iser for leading the way and for our staff and students for also contributing.   A great win to Ansett but more importantly congratulations to our students who read the equivalent of an amazing 34 weeks over the  past few months.

Thank you Staff

It has been a big couple of weeks with lots of valuable learning activities for all students from excursions, sports days to dress up days.  Thanks to our wonderful team for all of the organisation and efforts that have gone into these activities which benefit all students. We are so lucky to have a team that goes the extra mile.   Who says we miss out when you live rural, we dont!  Lets keep the good times rolling and make sure that like Stuart Tripp says 'make sure you always turn up'!
