Principal's Report

By Carolyn Serpell

Thank you to Joanne from Tennis Victoria, the Mount Beauty Tennis Club, and all the families who joined us at Friday's assembly, for the presentation of the Australian Open Tennis Trophies.  Our students were interested to learn all about the trophies and enjoyed participating in the tennis clinics, provided throughout the day.  Thank you also to everyone who came dressed up, and for your help in raising $84.55 to purchase new sports equipment.

Congratulations to Summer,

on being nominated this year as a recipient of the NAIDOC Medal of Excellence.  Summer was awarded the medallion for her entry into the annual Primary School NAIDOC colouring competition.

Next Monday is Remembrance Day and our SRC will be representing our school community and laying some flowers at the Cenotaph.  At school, a minute of silence will be held at 11am.

Many thanks to Lucy, Emily, Alice, Dave, Steve, Jarrod, Archie, Gene, Luca, Luella, Miranda, Skye and Sylvie for their assistance in weeding, planting and mulching one of our new garden beds on Tuesday.  In an overnight transformation, we now have a beautiful native garden which includes Midyim Berries, Billy Buttons and Trigger plants, among others.

Parent Teacher conferences will be held next week, from Monday 11th - 14th November. Bookings are now open in Compass, so please ensure you book a time to meet with your child's teacher, if you haven't already met this term.  All bookings can be made online via Compass.  If you require assistance with this process, please contact the school.

Prep transition will commence next week. On Tuesday, the kinder will bring a group of students over to the school to participate in a one-hour orientation and activity.

Next Thursday, 14th November, students in Prep-2 will be travelling to Tawonga, to participate in the annual Junior Sports.  The events will commence at 10am, and families are invited to attend to cheer on the competitors.

Swimming lessons will be run, this term, for all students.  We are currently in the process of finalising our dates, and anticipate lessons will commence in mid-late November and will run over two weeks.  More information will be provided soon.
