SENIOR RETREAT: A BEAUTIFUL LIFE GIVING EXPERIENCE
Last week, our 2025 Year 12 students embarked on a meaningful retreat at the Benedict XVI Retreat Centre, marking the beginning of their final year of their schooling journey. In this retreat students were given the opportunity to take time out and reflect on their lives, their relationships with others and God and what it means to be a leader at Caroline Chisholm College.
The retreat’s theme, “What We Are is God’s Gift to Us,” invited students to reflect on the key Christian teaching that each person, created in the image and likeness of God, is a unique gift from God. By recognizing the inherent dignity and worth in themselves and others, students explored how this understanding could shape their relationships and is an essential part of fulfilling God’s purpose in their lives.
The retreat included activities that helped students connect with each other and deepen their faith. Guided by St. Teresa of Avila’s prayer about being the hands of Christ, students were encouraged to see themselves as God’s presence in the world and to use their gifts to bring about positive change.
A special highlight of the retreat was the opportunity for students to plan, develop, and celebrate a Liturgy of the Word with Father Johnson and Father Sheldon from St. Padre Pio Parish, Glenmore Park. This collaborative worship experience not only strengthened their connection to God but also allowed them to practise leadership in faith.
We look forward to seeing how our Year 12 students carry forward the insights and inspiration from this retreat, using their gifts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
