Passive play offers a wonderful opportunity for children to engage in a calm, creative and enjoyable form of entertainment that is both relaxing and imaginative.
Michelle lead the way in creating Halloween themed "mummy pies", which students brought to life with decorated bandages and eyes. A big thank you to Sarah for assisting. How lucky are our students to have such fun and dedicated Mums who are able to come in and run activities like this!
Our Indigenous plants and wildlife have evolved together over millions of years, developing intricate relationships, one such special relationship is between the Dianella amoena and the Blue Banded Bee (Amegilla sp.)
Dianella amoena, or Matted Flax Lily, is indigenous to Victoria and critically endangered. We have now planted some in our garden, which will produce purple-blue flowers over late spring and summer. Cross-pollination between plants requires “buzz-pollination” which is performed by native bees, in particular the Blue Banded Bee.
More weeding and watering in garden club this week, along with investigating ladybeetles and planthoppers.
