Dear Parents & Carers,
Grandparents Day at OLHC: A Heart-warming Celebration
Today, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our annual Grandparents Day for our Junior students. The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate and spend quality time with their grandparents, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come. The event began with a heartfelt song performed by the students to welcome their grandparents. The song was so well received that an encore was requested at the end of the session, closing the day on a beautifully joyful note.
The Community Centre was buzzing with excitement as children and grandparents worked side by side, creating art, sharing stories and enjoying each other's company. A highlight of the day was the delicious treats – the students made chocolate coconut balls and decorated cookies, which they proudly shared with their loved ones.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated Junior Team – Maria Wise, Norah Jacombs, Clare Bisby, and Emily Ashworth – whose thoughtful planning and preparation brought this event to life. With the invaluable support of Taya Eddy, the afternoon was a tremendous success. Their hard work ensured a smooth, enjoyable experience for all, making it a truly memorable day for our OLHC community.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make Grandparents Day a resounding success – your presence enriched our school and left a lasting warmth in our hearts.

Just a reminder that Monday, 4th November, will be a school closure day, and Tuesday, 5th November, is the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday. We hope you all enjoy a well-deserved break!
