Chaplaincy Book Fair

Student volunteers have made the Horsham College Chaplaincy Committee’s second Book Fair for 2024 possible again!

Moving all of the donated books to the secure storage area is a big job that never ends!  Students invest their energy in bag trolley management as books are lifted and stacked to be transported to the sorting area.  Full classes of students then volunteer to shift the hundreds of boxes of categorised books into the Maroske Hall for set-up of the event - which opens at noon on Friday the 25th of October.

Popular with the community, and depended upon by avid readers, the sale of preloved books for $1 is the major fundraiser for the Chaplaincy Committee each year.  Monies raised pay for 60% of the salary of Chaplain, Yolande Grosser, who is employed at the school from Monday to Thursday each week.

With the additional support of Foodbank Victoria and Rotary Horsham, Yolande provides a Brekky Hub twice a week, For Faith support group each Tuesday lunchtime, whole school events once a term, special celebrations and help with the daily struggles for individual students.

The Chaplaincy Committee send a huge “Thank you!”  to all of the students who have helped in the lead up to this Book Fair and to those who will help set-up the final sale for this year!
