Welcome to term four.
This year is flying by and we are well and truly on the home stretch for 2024. Students need to keep working hard to give themselves the best chance they can to achieve success. Please reach out to your teacher for support with this, as well as if you have any questions about transitions and programs for 2025.
We will be continuing to follow-up with students finding it difficult to engage and therefore a reminder to parents to please keep communicating with staff about how your child is going and how we can support them.
If parents have any questions or issues they are welcome to contact Dan Garner at Alternate Programs to work through to help create the best opportunity for their young person.
Blue Group
On a cold and showery last day of term 3 Blue group enjoyed a celebration to recognise the great efforts of all the students in the group throughout the term with a visit to Halls Gap Zoo.
Students met a keeper and learnt about different types of snakes, and some took the opportunity to get up and personal with a python, many touching a snake for the first time and it was nice to see students encouraging each other to overcome their fears.
Students then tool a leisurely walk around the zoo visiting the diverse range of animals that Halls Gap Zoo has on display. Below are some of the great photos that students took on the day.
McKenzie Creek
Welcome back to the Creek after a well-deserved break! We are also very welcoming of some more sunny and warm weather!
We have a busy term ahead of us with our upcoming School Camp in week four, followed by ensuring that all students are prepared for their 2025 school plans.
PAT Testing - Week 3
To assess student growth in their literacy and numeracy skills throughout the school year, all students will complete their second round of PAT (progressive achievement testing) for the year.
Camp 2024 - Port Fairy
Permission forms for the upcoming camp on Monday 28 to Wednesday 30 October have been sent home to families. A reminder that there is no cost for the camp, and the teaching staff do need to have a confirmed number as soon as possible.
We will be departing from the Double Storey Building at 9am sharp, please reach out if you have any concerns with the packing list that has also been sent home with students, please do not hesitate to contact Ben or Ronnie to discuss.
School Savings Bonus for Victorian Families
All families with students in Years 7 to 11 will be eligible to receive a one-off payment of $400 to be used on camps, excursions, school uniform and/or textbooks.
A form has been sent home for families that will outline further details and how to access the funds that will be available in term 4. Unless you have recently changed your address, you do not need to return the form.

It was a busy beginning of term with three birthday celebrations during the first week of term 4.
