YEAR 8 BLACK RANGE CRICKET

The year 8 competition was very popular this year forcing it to be split in two pools and this meant it had to be played over two days.

Tuesday 15th our Year 8 Boys Cricket team head over to Dimboola Rd Oval to compete in Pool A matches against HTLC and Ararat College.

1st game was against HTLC we made 1 for 87 from our 12 overs and we restricted them to 1 for 64 from their 12 overs.

2nd game against Ararat College who battered first and made 4 for 78, in reply HC made 3 for 79 with 16 balls remaining.

The team will now play in the Black Range Final this coming Tuesday 22nd at Dimboola Rd Oval.

Well, done boys on winning both your games and displaying amazing behaviour and sportsmanship towards the other schools, keep it up and we look forward to the final.

YEAR 7 BLACK RANGE CRICKET

Well, done to our Year 7 boys who compete in the Black Range Year 7 cricket competition against St Brigid’s College on Monday.

The boys played 30 overs a side game which allowed everyone to get a bowl and provide more opportunities for students to get a bat as well.

We won the toss and sent St Brigid’s in to bat , they made 123 runs from their 30 overs, then their bowlers were able to restrict the Horsham College team to all out for 103 falling 20 runs short of the target.

Despite not winning the game it was a great day for all students involved getting the chance to play a full game of cricket and well done to those students who played in their first game of cricket.
