Year 10 University Camp

A group of year 10 students had the opportunity to participate in a uni visit camp on the last week of Term 3. They participated in activities at LaTrobe, ACU and Deakin as well as experiencing a taste of university life in student accommodation. They were able to tour the facilities at each of these universities and gained insight into courses, accommodation, life as a university student and the future of work.

It was a beneficial experience for those intending on going down that pathway. Students were impressed by the 3D printing machines and the high voltage lab in the engineering facilities, as well as the earthquake simulations. Cooking for themselves and their room mates was embraced as part of a day in the life of a university student, as well as try some of the culinary options in the Geelong area - trying wasabi for the first time was a significant experience for one of our students.

We are appreciative of the universities that provided the programs and the support to make this a beneficial trip as well as the students who demonstrated our college values in the way that they collaborated with each other throughout the whole experience.
