Spotlight on Humanities

Head of Faculty - Humanities & Commerce, Amanda Bopf

Our Year 10 students recently stepped back in time with an exciting Ancient Egyptian archaeological dig simulation! Through this hands-on experience, students learned the process of an archaeological dig, engaging in a ‘real-life’ simulation that brought history to life.

Carefully excavating artefacts such as a sarcophagus, shabtis, amulets, and even mummified pets, they uncovered fascinating details about ancient Egyptian culture and burial practices. This immersive experience has even inspired two of our Year 10 students to consider pursuing archaeology after school—perhaps marking the start of their own journeys into the world of historical discovery!
