Principal Message

Dear Parents and Guardians

World Teachers Day was celebrated with our staff on Friday and we thank our Parents and Friends for hosting a morning tea on behalf of all in our school community.  It is a special day to celebrate our teachers and thank them for all the work they do to educate, inspire and empower our students.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Interviews will be held in the Performing Arts Building on:

Monday 28 October 1:30pm to 6pm

Wednesday 30 October 3:30pm to 5:30pm

Students will remain at school on Monday afternoon until normal pick up time at 3:05pm.

These meetings are so important in supporting the partnership between home and school and all working together to meet the needs of our students and celebrate their successes.

Planning for 2025

Thank you to the parents who have already advised us that their children will be moving to a different school next year.  We understand that due to various reasons this may happen.

If you have not yet informed us could you please email -gsoffice@gswheelershill.catholic.edu.au by Friday 1 November.

This does not include our Year 6 students who will be moving onto secondary school.

In the coming weeks, we will begin the process of creating class groupings for the 2025 school year. To support this, next week, we will be sending home a "friendship star," where students can list up to five friends they would like to be with in their class next year. While we will make every effort to accommodate their preferences, please understand that we can only guarantee placement with one friend from their list.

Also if you had advised the principal in previous years of a significant reason related to the wellbeing of your child including as to why your child should not be placed with a specific student could you please email me directly (principal@gswheelershill.catholic.ed.au)

by Friday 8 November.  We will be working on class groupings soon and we need all the information now to ensure the process runs smoothly.

School Closure Days

An important reminder of the following school closure days this term.

Monday 2 December (Planning for 2025)

Congratulations to Anthony K. from 6P for earning a medal in recognition of his outstanding performance in the hurdles at yesterday’s regional competition! What an impressive achievement!

Music Gala

We look forward to seeing our choir and band students shine at the Music Gala on Thursday 14 November commencing at 6pm in the Performing Arts Building.  Our Year 4 - 6 students in the junior and senior school choirs will sing and we will have performances from the junior, senior and jazz bands.  It will be a wonderful night.

We are currently exploring an opportunity for students who have instrumental lessons at school to perform for their families so please watch this space.
