Focus for Term 4

Mary, the Mother of Jesus 

In Religious Education this term,  students are learning about Mary, Jesus’ mother. Classes began this unit by going on a ‘Mary hunt’ around the school and church to look for images of Mary.

Some classes looked closely at images of Mary holding baby Jesus, prompting students to reflect on their own experiences with their mothers holding them as babies.

Over the next five weeks, students will delve deeper into the signs and symbols associated with Mary, read scripture highlighting her role as the Mother of Jesus, and explore her significance as the first disciple of Christ. 

This learning journey aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of Mary's pivotal role in our faith here at St. Mary’s.
