Before, After and Holiday Care @ St Mary's

Hello Families and Friends,

We are so excited to share with you all what we have been getting up to at TheirCare over the last Month. We feel extremely grateful l to have has such an enjoyable and successful Holiday Program alongside an amazing start to the term!

Holiday Program

During the school holidays, the children enjoyed a diverse array of activities, fostering joyful memories and friendships. Over the two weeks, they delighted in outings such as a trip to the Movies, and a trip to indoor Archery. Back on site, the fun continued as the children shared laughter making slime and bouncy balls, made colourful paper sunflowers and more!

As always, outdoor play emerged as the primary source of their enjoyment, we spent many warm afternoons outside on the Playground building sandcastles, playing memory tag and even playing Football. It is amazing to see how well the children work alongside one another.

Luna Park, however, stands out as the highlight of the Holiday Program. The children's excitement reached new heights as they embraced thrilling rides and engaging games. This holiday was truly an unforgettable adventure, rich with fun, friendship, and cherished moments.

Term 4, Week 1

This week’s theme, "Blast From The Past," provided the children with an engaging opportunity to explore and immerse themselves in various aspects of history. The excitement began with the creation of mini time capsules, setting the tone for a week filled with creativity.

As the week progressed, craft activities became central to our daily operations. The children enthusiastically made their own Rubik's cubes, peg disco balls, and mini flip phones, fostering both critical and creative thinking skills.

The standout activity, however, was the t-shirt design project. Using plain white t-shirts as their canvas and an array of fabric markers, the children expressed their individuality and creativity. We were truly impressed by the thoughtfulness behind each design, showcasing their unique perspectives. This week has not only been enjoyable but also a wonderful opportunity for personal expression and skill development.

Term 4, Week 2

This week's theme, "Cartoon Creations," offered the children abundant opportunities for creativity and engagement. Their excitement grew as they realized they would be exploring and participating in activities inspired by some of their favourite cartoons throughout the week.

We kicked off the week with activities centered around the beloved cartoon "Bluey." This engaging series imparts valuable life lessons, making the construction of paper masks and bookmarks a seamless experience. During this activity, the children critically reflected on which "Bluey" episodes they enjoyed the most.

The fun continued as we explored various other cartoon shows through crafts, featuring standouts such as Mickey Mouse, Tom and Jerry, and the Looney Tunes. It was a refreshing experience to step away from screens and appreciate these cartoons from a new perspective. We look forward with great anticipation to the exciting activities that lie ahead!

Sun Safety

Being in Term 4, children must wear hats when engaging in outdoor play. Can I please ask parents and guardians that you remind your child to bring their hat over to TheirCare so that we can go outside and enjoy all the sun has to offer safely! If preferred we have a tub at the service, your child is welcome to bring a spare sun-safe hat that is named that they keep at the service and use throughout the Year! Sunscreen will be applied before going outside every day, if your child requires a particular sunscreen, please do not hesitate to let me know so that I can accommodate for this!

Many Thanks,

Swaye and Ellie
