Celebrating World Teachers' Day  - Our teachers are Superheroes!

This week, we celebrated World Teachers' Day to highlight and acknowledge the exceptional teachers at our school who significantly impact our students daily. Their dedication to supporting our students' academic and social-emotional needs is of the highest standard and is greatly appreciated.

Our teachers are true superheroes, from our home group teachers to our specialists and intervention teachers. They work hard to create engaging learning environments that encourage curiosity and confidence, helping students develop a lifelong love of learning. We are fortunate to have such a talented and committed group of teachers.

Let’s take a moment to recognise and thank our teachers for their hard work and dedication. Happy World Teachers' Day!

Colour Run

What an incredible day we had at our 2024 Colour Run. The vibrant colours and enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and families again made this year’s event one to remember. A huge thank you goes to our dedicated Parents' Committee for their tireless efforts in planning and organising the event. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured everything ran smoothly, creating a day full of fun and excitement for everyone involved.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the parents and carers who volunteered their time to assist on the day. Whether it was setting up, throwing colours, or helping with logistics, your support truly made a difference. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the strong involvement of our school community.  Reminder that QKR is still open for donations and all money raised will go towards improving the school.  The latest project is the painted playground designs. (4 square, snakes and ladders, chessboard and letter and number games).

Thank you for making this year’s Colour Run a fantastic success! We look forward to more exciting community events in the future.

Strengthening Our Commitment to Inclusive Practices

At our school, we are committed to ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. To strengthen our collective understanding and enhance our inclusive practices, staff have begun a series of professional learning sessions aimed at equipping us with the best evidence-based skills and knowledge to best support students with trauma backgrounds, neurodiversity, and complex needs.

This ongoing training, led by Colette Davis, Principal of Avenues Education, is helping us build a strong, consistent approach across our school. By deepening our understanding of how to respond positively and effectively to the diverse needs of all students, we are further embedding and enhancing our existing inclusive practices

We are excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to grow together as a staff, united in our journey to provide the best possible academic and social-emotional support for every child in our care.

Parent/Carer Opinion Survey 2023-2024

Below is a brief comparison summary of our 2023-2024 Parent/Carer Opinion Survey. It is pleasing to see some significant gains over the last 12 months. As a staff, we will continue to explore avenues to achieve this.
