Prayer:  For Cultural Diversity

We praise you, God, for the gift of cultural diversity in our world.

Help us learn to listen more deeply and connect with "others," who may have a different perspective and background.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, your son and our brother.

Amen.

Dear Families,

It has been a great first two weeks back at school and our children are all well and truly back into their learning routines. No doubt this term will move very quickly with so much planned and so much to be done.  Thank you all for your support in having your children ready each day for school and for the role you all play in our partnership of home and school. Of course we know that at times each of us may have concerns or questions which need to be raised and so I remind you all to contact your child's teacher or a member of leadership at anytime if this is the case.

We are already beginning to look at class structures for next year and at this early stage we will be planning for the folowing model which means we will be going up one senior class from this year. This is great for us as it enables us to have overall smaller class numbers in this level.

Hats on

A reminder that this term, with the warmer weather approaching, it is essential that all children have a hat at school and that these are worn at all times outside. Children who do not have a hat will be asked to stay in the quiet area in the shade.

Enrolments 2025:  Returning or not

If any families who are not returning to Trinty next year (other than our Year 6s) have not yet informed the office could you please do so as soon as pssible as this is very important for us in our planning for next year.

Grandparents Day: Wednesday  23rd October

Next week, on Wednesday 23rd October, we would be thrilled if all Grandparents and Special People  who can, are able to join us to celebrate these very important people. We will begin at 8:45am in classrooms and then move to the Church for a Mass at 10am. Following the Mass we will provide a morning tea for all Grandparents in attendance.

We look forward to seeing you there.

School Fees

Shortly all families will receive their latest School Fee Statements. Thankyou to all those who are up to date with these payments as this is greatly appreciated.

Song of this land

Every so often we are reminded of the rich tapestry of stories, traditions, cultures and expressions of faith that comprise Australia. The inaugural Song of This Land concert at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne on 13 October was a joyful, colourful, hope-filled expression of community and the various ways faith is expressed across the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

Congratulations to our Trinity Voices Choir members who performed at the Song of this land concert last Sunday at St Patrick's Cathedral and of course to Bernadette our choir leader who did such a great job preparing our children for their performance.

The concert was the vision of Dr Philip Matthias, Director of Cathedral Music, (who we all know as William, Thomas and Sophie's dad) who also organised the event.

Philip shared his hopes for future celebrations, saying, ‘May I offer my deepest gratitude to all who have taken part in Song of This Land. This is a time to rejoice in our cultural diversity and to experience the joy that music brings to us all.’

Philip also shared a lovely article about the concert which includes a heart warming paragraph about our Trinity Voices which I have included below.

It was perhaps the small but animated group of children from the Trinity Voices, the choir of Trinity Primary School in Richmond, led by their director Bernadette Matthias, that best captured the spirit of the event. Their enthusiastic performance conveyed hope, diversity, unity and joy, all rolled into a three-song performance complete with actions, delivered by the smallest but possibly most spirited performers of the day.

CONGRATULATIONS - Cam 10K run

Congratulations to Cam in Year 6 who completed the 10K run in this year's Melbourne Marthon recently. We are all extremely proud of his great effort finishing with a net time of 00:56:35 which is such a great effort. No doubt one day we will hear about his efforts in the full marathon as he shows such enthusiasm and dedication to his running.

AUSKICK - Opportunity for Term 4

On Thursday we had a visit from several AFLW Players promoting the AFL Auskick after school program we are hoping to run this term. (See photos below)

There are still lots of places available so the more the merrier.

To ensure everyone has a great experience, we divide the kids by age and offer optional all-girls groups. Sessions are just one hour per week, and kids can wear whatever they’re comfortable in - no need for expensive gear. It’s all about helping kids get comfortable on the footy field while having fun and learning!
