LODDON MALLEE REGION TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

GRACE SCOTT - STUDENT EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

 

It has been a busy start to Term 4 with many students representing the college at Basketball and Track and Field events.

 

We had over 20 students compete at the Loddon Mallee Region Track and Field Championships in Bendigo on Thursday the 10th of October. Medal winners on the day were:

Kayla McInerney, Emily Zhao, Carly Shepherd and Tiger Vearing all qualified to compete at the School Sport Victoria Track and Field State Championships in Melbourne on Monday the 21st of October. 

 

Kayla McInerney came 2nd in the 13yr Girls 100m and 5th in the Long jump.

Emily Zhao came 3rd in the 16yr Girls Shot put and 5th in Discus. 

Carly Shepherd participated in the 15yr Girls Shot Put and Tiger Vearing ran a PB in the 15y Boys 1500m.

 

All students should be proud of their efforts. 

 

 

Loddon Mallee Region Junior Basketball was held in Bendigo on Friday the 18th of October. Both our boys and girls teams competed. 

 

The Girls finished second overall with some very impressive gameplay. Best players were Miela Roberts and Laela Grayling.

 

The Boys finished fourth overall after some tight contests. Best players were Jimmy Kelly, Sam Brown and Lucas O’Reilly. 

 

A special thanks to our Y10 Sport and Rec students Bodhi Kelly, Rydar Morris and Ava Crow for coaching the teams on the day. 

 

Loddon Mallee Region Intermediate Basketball was held in Bendigo on Friday the 18th of October. Our girls team competed and placed third overall. Best players were Scarlet Grey, Ava Crow and Milla Pearson. 

 

This wraps up our college’s participation in interschool sport for 2024. Congratulations to all students who have represented St Mary MacKillop College throughout the year and thank you to all staff and students who coached, umpired and transported our teams. I am looking forward to another great year of school sport in 2025!
