REGIONAL ATHLETICS AMAZING RESULTS

It was a quick turn-around for our two athletes; Edie and Archer (both Year 5), who on Monday this week, both traveled to Cranbourne to compete in the Southern Metropolitan Regional Athletics carnival to compete in their respective events.  We are super proud of their efforts to get this far - and are again, super proud of how they performed at Regionals!

Archer competed in the 11y Boys 200m and ran an impressive PB (personal best) time of 29.05s, coming an impressive 7th in the overall placings.  Well done Archer - a superb PB time!

Edie had two individual events to compete in, both the 100m and 80m hurdles.  In her 11y Girls 100m she came 7th overall, with an impressive time of 14.38s, just 0.48’s of a second slower than the first place time -wow; what amazingly close times! Edie also raced in  the 11y Girls 80m hurdles, which she performed amazingly well in , placing 2nd overall, with a brilliant time of 13.75s!  This has scored Edie a place to run in the SSV State Athletics finals!  CONGRATULATIONS EDIE!  Edie will now compete at the State Track & Field Championships in her 11y Girls Hurdles event on Wedn. 6th November at the Lakeside stadium in Albert Park.  We wish her all the very best for this special event. Go Edie!

GOOD LUCK to our Year 3&4 Cricket Blast teams

We unfortunately had to postpone our Year 5&6 day last week due to the heavy rain and wind, so we’re hoping for much fairer weather for tomorrow’s Year 3 & 4 Junior Cricket Blast day.  Five teams are entered and are set to play a fun day of round-robin games.  Good luck to all teams and many thanks to the volunteer parents that are assisting their child’s team tomorrow!

WHOLE SCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Please look out for an Operoo next week regarding everything about our upcoming Whole School Swimming Carnival, which is set to take place on Friday 29th November at MSAC outdoor swimming pool in Albert Park.   The Junior and Senior carnival will be run in the same pool, with a boom separating the pool into two.  The Juniors will swim in 3 events, in a shallow-80cm depth water, with noodle and staff support if required.  Our Year 3-6’s select which events they wish to swim in, both 25m and 50m options.

Parents: please lock this date into your diaries now!  This event does require the wonderful support from numerous parent helpers for both the Junior (P-2) and Senior (3-6) carnivals.
