It has been another busy week in boarding. Students were kept on their toes with the Brunswick Show, where many represented the College by showing cattle, both for us and for local farmers exhibiting their livestock. Later that evening, students and staff returned to Brunswick to enjoy the fireworks and drone show, which, by all reports, was a spectacular display.
Local Sports
On Monday evening, our students took part in the local basketball competition across several teams. We have around twelve boarders and eight day students involved, making up a large portion of the total participants and providing great representation for the College.
Halloween
The students, particularly the Student Councillors, have been working hard to make tonight's Halloween event a great success. A big thank you to our amazing kitchen staff, who have gone above and beyond in preparing a fantastic range of food for the night. Photos will be found on social media tomorrow.
2026 Update
In preparation for 2026, we’ve decided to make a few minor adjustments to our operational times, mainly in the evenings, to help students get more sleep. Research consistently shows that adequate rest helps young people function better physically and mentally.
We’re also planning a few morning changes, with dorm checks to be completed after breakfast. This will help ensure dorms are left as clean as possible for our wonderful cleaning staff.
We plan to trial these changes as of next week, while we still have a large number of students on-site, to identify and address any issues that may arise before fully implementing them in 2026.
