Spotlight on Learning

Dear Foundation Families, 

We hope you all enjoyed the extra-long weekend with your children?

This week, we had some wonderful discussions about our trusted adults — the special people we can turn to when we need help. We shared ideas about who we can talk to and talked through some everyday problems we might face. We’ll keep learning about body safety and our rights as children in fun and meaningful ways over the coming weeks!

Next week: 

English:  This week, we are learning the /ng/ sound! Students will be practicing saying, reading, and writing words with the /ng/ sound, such as long, wing, swing. 

Mathematics: 📚 Next week in Mathematics, we’ll keep learning about mass and capacity, using real-life examples to help us understand these concepts in action. ⚖️🥛

Social Emotional Learning: This week 🌟 we learned how to be fair and kind to everyone, whether they are a boy or a girl. 💛 We talked about what it means to be treated unfairly and how we can help our friends be kind and fair to each other. 🤝 We also explored what “no means no” means to us and our bodies, and how we can use our words to keep ourselves safe. 💬🧡

Religious Education: Next week in Religious Education, we will be exploring and discussing Remembrance Day. 🕊️ We will participate in a liturgy to acknowledge and remember those who fought for us. 🎖️✨

Auslan:  This week in Auslan, we are learning that we need to sign an object before we describe it. 👐 I am successful when I can identify an animal sign and its shape. 🐾
