Notes from the Principal

Staffing Announcement
We look forward to welcoming Miss Millie Lowndes who will be teaching Foundation - Year 2 in 2026. Miss Lowndes comes to us from Golden Square Primary School in Bendigo. She is really excited about joining our community and will be here to spend the day with her students on Tuesday 9th December.
Congratulations to Miss Amy Gray who has been appointed to a classroom teaching role in Terang. Our whole school community wishes her all the best for her future, and we thank her for her commitment to educating our Cavendish kids.
A note from Miss Lowndes:
I’m Millie Lowndes, and I’m excited to be joining Cavendish Primary School in 2026. I’ve been teaching for nine years, and I’m looking forward to being part of a tight-knit school community.
I grew up in Bendigo, where I started my teaching career, before moving to Darwin, where I spent five years teaching, exploring, and enjoying everything the Top End has to offer. I came back to Bendigo a couple of years ago, and now I’m thrilled to be heading to Cavendish for a new chapter.
I’ve heard such great things about Cavendish Primary School, and I can’t wait to meet you all.
Outside of school, I love travelling, cooking, and staying active. I’m passionate about creating a classroom where students feel curious, confident, and happy to learn.

It has been put to use already, with lots of mud pies and muffins being cooked! It is wonderful to see students of all ages enjoying this together.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the organisation of the Fleece & Flower Show. It is a fantastic local event where we can all catch up for a chat. The students school work looked amazing. Congratulations to the students that received awards. We raised $409 on our school stall. Some of this money has gone into purchasing the new mud kitchen. Thank you to the senior students for manning the stall, families for the donation of mystery jars and to everyone that helped set up and pack up.
