Term Update: A Fantastic Start to the Term!
It’s been an exciting and inspiring few weeks across the school as students continue to learn, connect, and grow both inside and outside the classroom.
Year 10 Revive Day – Respectful Relationships and Responsibility
Our Year 10 students recently celebrated their final Revive Day, which focused on the Respectful Relationships curriculum — promoting personal responsibility, self-awareness, and risk assessment.
Students were fortunate to hear an informative and engaging presentation from Red Frogs, an organisation dedicated to supporting and keeping young people safe at concerts, festivals, and Schoolies events. Their message encouraged us all to make positive choices, look out for one another, and surround ourselves with people who inspire us to be the best versions of ourselves.
They were then blessed to hear from Zac Jones the author of “Why the Fallen” Zac is an engaging and inspirational speaker who committed to preventing young people from making the same mistakes as him. Many students waiting back to speak with Zac and get advise on how they can make better choices for themselves.
To finish the day, Year 10s enjoyed a fun and relaxing final session with life-size games and activities — a perfect way to unwind before heading into exam preparations. A huge thank you to Alexandra, Diba, Isabelle, Rachel, and Shanice for their leadership and organisation in making Revive Day activities such a success!
Road Smart Program – Learning Safe Driving Habits
Following Revive Day, Year 10 students also participated in the Road Smart Interactive Program, designed to educate new and upcoming drivers about road safety, awareness, and responsible decision-making behind the wheel. It was a valuable and eye-opening experience that will no doubt help shape our students into safe and considerate drivers.
Year 9 Cluster Day – Learning from the Best
Doncaster Secondary College had the pleasure of having Jordan Barclay (aka EYstreem) from Spawnpoint Media share with our kids on the importance of resilience in this ever-changing world of work in the 21st century. A huge thank you once again for this amazing opportunity!
It’s been a vibrant and enriching start to the term — full of learning, inspiration, and community spirit! We look forward to seeing our students continue to grow and thrive in the weeks ahead and are looking forward to celebrating the end of the year with them.
