Primary Sub-School News

Acting Primary Sub School Leader
Hi everyone!
We are now in Week 4 of Term 4.
The term seems to be flying by.
Our primary students have been working hard to show their teachers how well they are doing when assessing them for their Semester 2 Reports.
These reports are due to be distributed at the end of Week 9 or Friday, 5th December.
Special events that our students are involved in include the following:
Mental Health Month Celebrations
Our wonderful Wellbeing Team developed a range of activities for our staff and students to promote everybody's positive mental health and wellbeing. Notably, our students indulged in our first ever JSA Camp held in the CLH with a range of fun and engaging camp-like, sensory and play-based activities. In fact, the only challenge was to transition them out after their session. We feel that this will become an annual event our students will look forward to each year.
'Cyber Safety' Workshop
Students learned all about how to use technology devices safely.
They listened to songs and a fabulous presenter leading the important message around how we can access safe material online or on apps and to always 'seek help' from a trusted adult at all times.
'Being Brave'
Brainstrom Productions Incursion
This week, the team from Brainstrom Productions performed a play for the primary students called 'Being Brave' about being a good friend at school. Bullying is a challenging problem and we feel that, aside from learning this in classrooms, a positive story and message around looking after self and others is necessary.
We look forward to having more fun incursions very soon.
We cannot wait for the Inflatable incursion later next month - a great way to celebrate all students for following our schoolwide expected behaviours.
ROOM 7
Wellbeing and building social connections is a big focus in Room 7. Here are some of our favourite activities in Term 4: Weekly visits from George the dog, special events including “Camp JSA” with a variety of fun and sensory immersing activities, group chasing games in the playground, Kitchen cooking sessions and celebrating birthdays with our classmates.
