This fortnight's Spotlight is on....

Stage 2

Stage 2 have had a busy few weeks with sports gala days and incursions as well as being busy in class and producing some amazing artworks in Year 3.

Our experience with Cameron Brown at the Stage 2 Incursion:

We enjoyed the day because he taught us about having growth and fixed mindsets. We played lots of fun bonding activities where we got to be partners with someone we haven’t worked with before. We learnt about feelings and how if you are sad you miss all the good things in life. Cameron helped us expand our learning and our friendship groups. It was a really fun experience to have the whole day with him.  We really think that having him here definitely helped us expand our knowledge and helped us learn in a really fun way.  We think it was a great experience to have him here and we really enjoyed the day.

Some of the games that we played you could play in your own home:

One of the games that we played was Thunderball. You had to cooperate with your team to see how many hits with the ball you could get.

Another game that we played inquired about teamwork and working together. It was a game where you had to pass the ping pong ball backwards and you would have to rely on your team to catch the ball in a little cup.

We hope that some of the younger students will get to have the time to play and learn with him as well. We hope that they have as much fun as we did.

Soccer Gala Day by Dougie

Last Wednesday, we went to Queens Park for our soccer gala day. We played other schools like Holy Cross, St Charles and OLSH. It was really fun! My team won 2 games and we were really proud of ourselves. I scored a goal in one of the games. Sydney FC organised a great day for us and I can’t wait for the next one!

Soccer Gala Day by Scarlett

Last Wednesday Sydney FC organised and refereed a soccer gala day for us. The ref’s were really nice and one even played on our team with us! Our team had some ups and downs and even though we didn’t score a single goal we had a lot of fun. We bumped into old friends and even made some new ones too.

Year 2...

Year 2 have been reading and studying themes associated with La Oruga Hambrienta (The Very Hungry Caterpillar). The book has helped to reinforce already learnt vocabulary such as colours, numbers, fruits and days of the week.

Stage 2 & 3....

Stage 2 and 3 students have been given the opportunity to research a traditional food from a Spanish speaking country.  They enjoyed presenting in small groups where all students gave each other feedback.
