The  'Tertiary Education Basics' seminars have been well supported by Year 11.

 

So far we have covered

  • Basic Introduction & Key Dates
  • What is a Degree & Investigating Courses
  • Adjustment Factors & Selection Ranks, Tertiary Admission Centres & How to apply
  • Access Schemes & Early Entry

 

The final two sessions will be

  • Pathways to dream course
  • What you do over the Xmas holidays to set yourself up

 

If parents would like to read the summaries of these sessions, they are available through the All Things Tertiary (HSC 2026) Google Classroom.

 

As parents you can request to join these Classrooms. You will then receive a Weekly email which summarises what has been posted. It will also then give you the ability to open Classroom and see all posts. If you are interested in this please email murrayk@ww.catholic.edu.au and in the subject line state which Classroom and the name of your son/daughter.

Interested in a Trade?

There are going to be several different opportunities that come up next year that will be relevant for anyone who is looking at securing an Apprenticeship/Traineeship in the future.

 

This will include

  • Made for a Trade
  • Girls can Too
  • Trade Expo
  • TAFE Tasters

and many other opportunities

 

So it is really important that you fill out this form ASAP as some events will have really limited numbers and I will only send info to students who have filled out this form.

 

If you have any friends that are also interested in Apprenticeships/Traineeships remind them to fill out this form as well.

 

IMPORTANT: It is still essential that you respond to anything that I advertise in your Classroom.

 

White Card Course Expression of Interest

It is compulsory to do this course if you want a job (or even Work Experience) in the Construction Industry..

 

If you are interested, please complete this Expression of Interest form.

 

We will email all students who fill in this form when we have confirmed dates of the next course.

 

Typically we have one course per term for Terms 1 - 3. There will not be a course in Term 4. So get onto this early so you do not miss out.

 

There will be limited spots so to confirm your spot, you must respond to the email and pay the fee (approximately $110 - $120 TBC) to the front office. If you are in Year 11 studying Construction you will not need to pay the fee as your fee is covered by your subject fees.

 

Make sure all fields are filled in correctly. Use a capital letter for the start of both your first name and last name. Fill in your address as per the example, as in make sure you include town and postcode

Are you in Year 10, 11 or 12? CSU Explore Day (Tuesday 24 March 2026)  is your chance to check out what life at Charles Sturt University is like – but with a twist!

 

Explore Day features lots of workshops you can take part in, based on careers and courses you're interested in.You'll need to book a spot in any workshop you'd like to attend.

 

You'll be able to:

  • talk to academics about courses and careers.
  • attend tours of facilities and social spaces.
  • enjoy a delicious morning tea on arrival and a free lunch.
  • bring along your parents or carers, teachers and friends. All our buildings are accessible, so if you're a person with disabilities, you'll be able to take part in everything.

 

When you register, you will get the opportunity to choose which sessions you attend. Spots are allocated on a first served basis, so do not delay in registering because you may miss out on the sessions you want to attend.

 

SUPER IMPORTANT INFORMATION - You must register before 1st March 2026. If you register after this date, you will not be included in the Kildare group and will not be able to attend with us.
