Assistant Principal Message

Thanksgiving Mass 2025
We gathered on Monday with staff, students, parents, and carers to celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving, marking the closing of the 2025 school year. It was a special privilege to welcome our beloved Presentation Sisters who joined us for this significant celebration, along with parents and carers of our new Student Leaders.
The themes of our Mass beautifully wove together two important events: the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which we know as ‘Presentation Day’ celebrated last Friday, November 21st, and the Badge Blessing and Commissioning of our new Year 12, 2026 Student Leaders.
We were incredibly proud to see our Student Representative Council (SRC) members demonstrate their leadership capabilities by undertaking all of the special student roles within the liturgy.
Attendees were encouraged to be active participants in the Mass, sharing in the responses and hymns, and reflecting with reverence and respect. As we took a moment of prayerful silence, we considered our collective reason for gathering: to give thanks for the blessings of the past year and look forward to the future.
Together, we prayed for the needs of our leaders, our community, our Church, and the world.
We pray for those who lead our Church, especially Pope Leo, for his health, hope and courage at this time. We also pray for Bishop Mark and all our priests, that they be given the grace and strength they need to be credible and life giving witnesses to the Gospel.
As we honour the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we recall Mary’s profound “Yes” to God’s will. We pray with gratitude for the gift of the charism of Nano Nagle and the legacy of the Presentation Sisters in our community. May our lives resemble their humble devotion to the call to service and vocations.
We pray for our great nation. May Australia be a land where all people are valued and treated with respect and dignity, knowing that we are made in the image and likeness of God.
We pray for the dedicated staff of Kildare Catholic College. May they be strengthened in their role of supporting us as pilgrims of hope, on our way to the heavenly kingdom.
We pray for ourselves, the students and leaders of Kildare Catholic College. Give us the grace to be able to live our motto ‘Live the Truth’. May we demonstrate, in words and deeds our College values, of faith, justice, care and learning, enabling all in our community to flourish.
We pray for those who have died. We remember especially at this time the members of the Presentation Sisters and Christian Brothers who laboured in our school and have passed away. We pray to The Lord.
O God, our refuge and our strength, hear the prayers of your Church, for you yourself are the source of all devotion and grant, we pray, that what we ask in faith we may truly obtain.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen
Farewell and Thank You
As my time at the College concludes, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire Kildare Community. My experience here during Semester 2 has been incredibly rewarding, and I feel truly fortunate to have been welcomed so warmly and embraced by the community.
To the students, thank you for your enthusiasm, your willingness to learn, and the energy you bring to this amazing school every day. You are the heart of this College.
To the staff, I am grateful for your support, insight and collaboration. It's been a privilege to work with you all. Your dedication to the students and your commitment to the College's mission and vision is inspiring. You each contribute so much to the fabric of this community.
And finally, to the parents and carers, thank you for your positive partnership. Your trust, involvement and support of our work in living the values of faith, care, learning and justice is invaluable.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105)
Working alongside you all this semester has been a highlight, and I will carry the spirit of the Kildare Community with me as I step into my new role as Principal of Mater Dei Catholic Primary School.
Thank you for making my time here so meaningful.
Yours in faith and hope,
Amelia Bright | Interim Assistant Principal
Thank you Mrs Bright! Let’s prepare to finish well this term!
A huge thank you to Mrs Bright for her contribution to our Kildare community, we will miss you!
With Mrs Bright taking on her new role I’ve stepped in early as the Assistant Principal of Kildare. It’s with great pleasure that I take on this role, knowing I have the support of this outstanding community. Over the last 9 years at Kildare I’ve built a profound respect for the truly transformative capacity of our wonderful students and staff, and our expert leadership team.
We are an authentic and improving school, and I’m passionate about continuing our great work in learning and wellbeing as we head into 2026. Please take the time to review our improvement goals for 2026 as linked by Mrs Scutti on the previous page, you will be hearing more from us about our goals as we begin our next year of learning.
Over the final few weeks of this term students and staff will be particularly busy, as subject selections are prepared, final reports are checked, excursions and incursions are organised and we meet our Class of 2031! (Year 7 2026) on December 5th.
Please know that we will be focused on learning each and every lesson until 3:20pm on the 12th of December. Our high expectations such as phones in bags during the day, wearing of the correct uniform, wearing our hats, arriving to class prepared for learning, will be maintained as we head toward the Christmas break. Can I ask that we all work to finish this term well, full of joy knowing that we can “Raise the bar, and close the gap.”
