Measuring Capacity with 4B
Last Friday we measured the capacity of different sized containers. We had to fill them with water and measure the millilitres and the litres that they could hold. We compared the capacity of each container by measuring the amount of water they could hold. We had fun working in a collaborative group and estimating which containers could hold the most. Luckily it was a nice warm day so that when we spilt the water it didn’t matter. We had a fantastic time and didn’t even realise how much maths we were learning!

Our Fairytale Creativity Unit is in full swing in Foundation. F1 students designed and created a new path for little Red Riding Hood to follow so that she doesn’t bump into the big bad wolf again!

Today during our Inquiry STEM session, the F2 and F3 children were challenged to design and build a bridge strong enough for the Three Billy Goats Gruff to cross safely. Working collaboratively, they planned their ideas and selected suitable materials. Once their bridges were complete, the children tested their designs by placing the three billy goats on top to see if their structure was stable and strong. This task encouraged creativity, problem-solving and teamwork. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and engineering thinking come to life!

Our Year 3 students had a fabulous day at the ACMI excursion, exploring interactive exhibits, discovering the magic, and learning through hands-on experiences!
