Student Leadership

Hi Saltwater Community,

Welcome to Week 8 of Term 4, a time when our student leaders truly shine. As we move toward the end of the school year, our Junior School Council members, House Captains, and Class Captains continue to play an important role in strengthening our school community.

STEM Bridge Challenge: Year 4-6 House

In Week 6 this term, our Year 4-6 students took on the exciting STEM Bridge Challenge as part of their house competition. It was fantastic to see their creativity, teamwork, and determination in action-as they designed, built, and tested their own little bridges using simple materials.

What really stood out was how much the students learned from trial and error. Some bridges didn’t hold on the first try-but instead of giving up, teams made adjustments, strengthened weak points, and tested again. Their resilience paid off, and a few bridges stood strong under load!

The winners for this were:

Goolagong House- Ava 5D, Purav 4C, Ollie 4C

Vander-Kup House- Junhe 5D, Hridyansh 4D, Aiden 4I, Marco 4F, Nikhilesh 5D, Archie 5D, Seoha 4I, Yash 4I, Madhav 4I, Manya 4I.

This challenge wasn’t just about engineering: it was a chance for students to practise problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance. We’re so proud of all participants for giving it their best.

A big congratulations to the students whose bridges won “Most Resilient STEM Bridge”-your ingenuity and grit inspire us all.

Well done to every student involved-and a special thank you to the teachers and house leaders who encouraged and supported the teams. We can’t wait to see even more students take part next year!

Wellbeing Leaders

Hi I’m Prisha, and I love being a wellbeing leader. I think it makes me even stronger and more ready for the hard problems from the outside world. I want to solve the conflicts between our school because I want to make this school a better place for all the staff and the students, so nobody feels like they don't belong, and as a wellbeing leader I really enjoy that. This school is already a good space from teachers to staff to students, but I think we could improve it even more. All of the wellbeing leaders are here to help, you might notice some minor changes, but those tiny changes can still transform this school. We might set up some fundraisers to make our school a better place to learn. You could also give us some tips and ideas so you can participate to help us make our dream school come true!So are you ready to see a new school right in front of your own eyes, where wisdom begins with wonder.

Hi, I'm Freya Jani. I enjoy the role of Wellbeing leader. I believe helping others is the best thing one can do. Wellbeing programme has recently started and with the help of our respected teachers & friends, we can make this school a better place. We believe that our school will upgrade with time and this is just the first step towards making it a world class institution. We leaders will organise various events like fundraisers, sports day, school fairs, carnivals etc. We will ensure cleanliness & safety across the entire school area by regularly going on rounds each day. We are available for each & every student, every day & you can easily spot us wearing Bright Yellow Lanyards in different areas of the school. Be ready to see a brand new school where wisdom begins with wonder.
