Student Learning

Foundation
Ava, Carlos & Lily were Prep G 1st Prize Winners at the Cobram show & Abdul was our Student of the week for his adjectives in his story writing.
Students have been learning about adjectives and added some great words to their books about cats. There were some pretty creative ideas and they were very proud of their finished work.
In Mappen, the students have been learning about how to make paper stronger & they discovered that by folding it and adding layers, this can be achieved. They also made paper aeroplanes & tried to see whose went the furthest.
On Thursday, Ditto visited and taught us how to keep our bodies safe.
Year 1/2
Reading - Our author study this term is Julia Donaldson. The students have loved reading some of her wonderful stories, including Tabby McTat, Tiddler, and The Highway Rat. They have enjoyed exploring her rhyming style, memorable characters, and the important messages in each story.
Science - The students have enjoyed investigating forces, focusing on pushing and pulling. They participated in a hands-on activity where they created car ramps to explore how different surfaces and angles affect movement. It was great fun seeing their experiments in action!
P.E - After Josh Giddy’s standout performance, we have some aspiring basketballers in our Year 1/2 area. The students were inspired by his skills and enjoyed practicing their own dribbling and shooting.
Ditto - On Thursday, the students enjoyed a visit from Ditto’s Keep Safe Adventure Show. They learned about personal safety and how to make safe choices through discussion and songs.
Ditto’s 3 Rules:
- We all have the right to feel safe with people.
- It’s okay to say NO if you feel unsafe or unsure.
- Nothing is so yucky that you can’t tell someone about it.

Year 5/6
5/6 students fashions on the field - The 5/6 students had a fantastic time taking part in Fashions on the Field. They showed off their creativity, confidence and style! But most importantly, had a heap of fun!
As part of their Earth Sciences unit, the 5/6 students completed a fun hands-on activity in the sandpit to explore erosion, deposition and weathering. They created mini landscapes and observed how water and wind changed them over time, bringing their learning to life in a creative and engaging way.
During the week the Year 5/6 cohort has joined with the Year 3/4 students to share their narrative writing pieces. It was wonderful to see the students enjoying sharing their work!
