This week we say farewell to Ms Rosengarten. Danit has been associated with SMPPS since 2020. She has been a valued member of staff and has provided a nurturing and inclusive environment for her students. We wish Ms Rosengarten all the best as she prepares for the birth of her beautiful baby, number 2.
We also say a fond farewell to Ms Kelly at the end of this year. Leanne has been a wonderful asset to the South Melbourne Park community for many years. Unfortunately, it’s time for Ms Kelly to head back home to Ireland in 2026. We thank her for all she has given our children and the vibrance that she has brought to SMPPS.
In 2026, Kara Merrin, Clare Fensling, Rebecca Rosen and Sergio Msahli Azagane are moving on to other schools. Emma Whitby is looking forward to getting married and enjoying an extended honeymoon. Cate Bain-Lowry will be with us for a short time in the new year before she also goes on maternity leave, ready for baby number 2, and Can Osman will be taking a year’s leave.
A huge thank you to all of these wonderful staff who have gone above and beyond for our kids!
In 2026 we welcome three passionate and skilled educators, Hayley Fulton, Stephanie Holloway and Sonia Zobel. We engage in very thorough recruitment processes at SMPPS and could not be happier with these additions to our staff. We are also excited to see Jacquie Murovanchik return from family leave next year. Lisa Breen will continue her intervention role part-time and bring her extensive knowledge into a classroom role. I am thrilled to have these five outstanding teachers with us in 2026!
Over the last two weeks, many of our year five students have been busy completing surveys and writing speeches as candidates for the Student Representative Council (SRC) for 2026. We are proud of each and every applicant for having the courage to apply, the strength to make a speech in front of their peers and the grace to accept the outcome.
Congratulations to the following students:

Information regarding parent contributions was sent out to families this week. Can I please encourage you to read School Council President, Katrina Walker’s letter to families, explaining how we utilise the voluntary contributions from our parents and carers. Your contribution will make a difference to the quality of programs we can offer in 2026, and I sincerely thank you for your up-coming support.
Nicole
