In grade 5 this week, the grade 5s will be looking at the vocabulary used in chance and data.

VOCABULARY

Chance and data: The likeliness that an event will occur.

Odds: the chances or likelihood of something happening or being the case.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Go online with your child. Search for some appropriate probability and chance online interactive games. Play the games with you child and discuss your thinking as you play.

Get them to talk about their strategy and how they could play the game better.
