Visual Arts
Over the past few weeks, students have been busy building characters using plasticine, carefully manipulating the materials, and working in small scale which requires intricate fine motor skills and attention to details. Students have used creativity and problem-solving skills to create backgrounds in order to put together stop-motion videos. Students have worked individually and in groups to produce some amazing results!
Following on from their projects using the book ‘The Time of Chaos’, (story by N’arwee’t Professor Carolyn Briggs AM PhD) as inspiration, students have begun putting together a display to show at the Womin Djeka festival held next year in March at Emu Plains Reserve. After discussing what makes a good display, and different ways artwork could be presented, students have begun collaborating on a display board adding in artwork to showcase learning. More information regarding this festival will be provided early in the new school year.

Rounding out the year.
Bike Challenge
What super star bike riders we have. From school to the Hastings foreshore, competed all day in challenge activities in the heat and then rode back.
We reckon we'd earnt the right to raid the icy pole fridge much to Kaye's disgust. A great day and great effort from all riders. Hunter Van De Kasteele won a new helmet and Damon Phillips - Derby may have just learnt to get his bike out of first gear - yeahhh!
Thanks Jemima. A riding super star.
Triathlon
The district triathlon was held at Crib Point Recreation Reserve on Thursday, 28th November.
Thanks to all the parents that got bikes down there and came along to support. Thanks also to Jemima and Brenda for coming along to allow it all to work.
As usual, it was a great event. This year we only competed in teams events and everyone did their best which is all that is ever asked.
Congratulations to Alana who doubled up in the run for two teams. A huge gutsy effort. Well done Alana.

Auslan (Australian Sign Language)
As the year comes to a close, students from Foundation to Year 6 have been engaging in fun and interactive games to reinforce their learning in Auslan. These activities are designed to help them consolidate the signs, vocabulary, and concepts they've learned throughout the year.
By incorporating games into the classroom, students have the opportunity to practise their signing skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment, making the learning process feel more natural and engaging. These games provide the students with the opportunity to use their Auslan skills in real-life scenarios whilst building their confidence and fluency. Whether it's through memory games, songs or storytelling, these activities have allowed students to connect with their peers while reinforcing key language elements.
As the year wraps up, the fun games serve as a celebration of their progress and a way to strengthen their understanding of Auslan before moving on to new challenges in the next school year.
Performing Arts
Our music program finished with an incredible performance at our school concert on Friday, 6th December. I was so proud of our students! They performed so well and their items were faultless. This concert was a great way to show case our music program with student demonstrating their talents with playing instruments, reading musical notation, singing, dancing and moving to music. I am sure that you will all be singing the songs everywhere you go! I know that I am !
I am also looking forward to our musical showcase at assembly on Friday, 13th December. We have 7 students who will be performing musical items for our enjoyment. We have some very talented musicians at our school and I am excited for them to demonstrate their musical talent.
