We have now entered the Liturgical season of Advent.
Advent begins the Church’s Liturgical year and prepares us to celebrate the birth of Jesus at Christmas. It gives us time to reflect and rejoice in the coming of Christ.
(To Know, Worship and Love Year 6)
It is also a time when we are especially challenged to reflect upon how Jesus - ‘The Promised One’ really affects our lives. It is a time to focus on jesus’ love at work in our own actions and in the world.
It is a time to PREPARE, WAIT and SHARE in faith, hope and love. (To Know, Worship and Love Year 5)
Want to know more about Advent??? Watch this 2min video for some great information about this Liturgical season. You might like to do this as a family … it is VERY child friendly!
Next Thursday -12th December - the Year 6 students will come together to celebrate the end of their primary school journey here at Our Lady of Fatima. Their Graduation Mass commences at 12.00. We wish them well as they move towards the next stage in their educational journey!
On Tuesday 17th December students from Kinder to Year 6 will come together to celebrate, as a school community, the end of the school year. You are all invited to attend this Mass which commences at 9.30am and will culminate in the Awards ceremony where we acknowledge student achievement from across the year.
Take a moment over the next couple of weeks to pop into the Church foyer to admire the beautiful nativity set created by Fr Zeljko! You will be AMAZED!
Finally, as we journey towards Christmas, take a moment to STOP and think about what Christmas is really all about - the birth of Christ. A time when we remember that God gave us the greatest gift of all—Jesus, our Savior.
Dear God,
As we wait for the coming of Jesus,
help us to prepare our hearts to receive His love and peace.
Guide us through this Advent season with hope, joy, and kindness.
May we grow closer to You as we celebrate
the birth of Your Son, our Savior.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Have a fabulous fortnight everyone!
