Principal's update

Hello everyone,
Here is the newsletter for week eight of term four. I hope the rain last night was as welcome at your house as it was at mine. We had one medium sized tree split at school due to the rain, unfortunately it will need to be removed as it is now unsafe.
2025 prep transition and 2025 enrolments for all year levels
Further to last week's newsletter, we have continued to received enrolment enquiries for all year levels with more school tours being undertaken. We continue to have enrolment capacity in all year levels, if you know of anyone looking for a great school, please let them know we are still accepting enrolments .
Today we held our second formal 2025 prep transition session. It was wonderful to see the new students having an enjoyable time at school.
We have two more prep transition sessions:
- Tuesday 03 December 9.00-11.30
- Tuesday 10 December 9.00-1.00
Please share this transition information with anyone you know who may still be undecided about prep for 2025.
Respectful Relationships
The DoE has released an updated Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships curriculum for Victoria Schools. These resources, updated by Emeritus Professor Helen Cahill and Honorary Associate Professor Debbie Ollis, and are designed to strengthen consent education and better meet the contemporary needs of students.
The updates include age-appropriate lessons plans for all students from Prep to Year 12.
The updates ensure the resources are inclusive of all students, including students of all genders and sexualities, students with disability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
The updated resources will help teachers give students skills to:
- build and maintain respectful relationships
- explore healthier masculinities
- address hate speech
- strengthen their understanding of consent
- safely navigate the online world.
As a Respectful Relationships Lead School, Brita and I attended a two day Professional Learning with Professor Helen Cahill on Monday and Tuesday at Bendigo to learn more about and explore the updated resource. Members of the regional RR implementation team will join Taradale school staff at a staff meeting to explore the updated resource prior to implementation in classrooms. Below is an attachment with further information about the updated RR resource
