Reading: Aim to read 15 minutes at home per night.

Learning this week:
Writer’s Workshop: We will spend the remaining weeks this year working on our editing skills and creating a piece of writing for our next teacher to receive.
Mathematics: We will finish exploring money this week and spend some time revisiting the number strand including looking at: place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Unit of Inquiry: We will continue exploring our final unit of inquiry this week: How We Organise Ourselves with a focus on ‘Changing Communities’.
Announcements:
Year 2 Camp - is at AFL Max, West Beach, from Tuesday 19th November until Wednesday 20th November (next week). Please see the packing list below. The school will provide Subway for lunch on arrival back to school on Wednesday for Year 2 students. We will cater for dietary needs. Students are allowed to be collected from school on Wednesday at lunchtime – 12:45pm or usual pick-up time. Students should arrive at the normal time, if you are running late, please phone the office, we will be leaving at 10:00am Tuesday.
Y2 Camp Packing List
You will need to pack:
Students and Teachers will need to bring their own bedding (warm sleeping bag and pillow)
Appropriate clothing & footwear (enclosed shoes and socks – clothing that is comfortable to move around in)
Enough clothes for an overnight stay.
Something warm to sleep in
Toothbrush/toiletries
Drink Bottle
We suggest a small sports bag – no need for big suitcases.
A fitted single sheet to help keep mattresses clean for all guests
Relevant medication (to be kept with School staff- Parents to hand over to teachers in the courtyard on day of departure)
A packed recess and lunch for Day 1 (all other meals will be provided- we will provide lunch back at school on Wednesday).

What not to bring:
Aerosol cans (i.e. spray-on deodorant or insect repellent)
Lollies or chewing gum or Jewellery
Anything valuable (AFL Max takes no responsibility for the loss or damage to a client’s personal property, including money or other valuable items)
Technological Devices (iPads, etc).
While the Year 2s are on camp, the year 3s will be with Mr Salisbury and Ms Pena. Mr Trezona will be on Year 2 camp.
Carols Evening – The annual schools carols evening is being held on Friday, Week 7 (29th November). Please save the date. More information is on its way.
U8 Basketball – We are looking for some more female players for our Super Novas Basketball Team. They train on Mondays after school usually with games on Saturdays at local venues. Mr T Absent – I will be away Friday Week 6, Mr Draper will be in 2/3T that day.
