VCE VM

This year at MGSC we had our very first cohort of VCE VM.

The students have explored the importance of industrial relations, workplace environment and practice. They started the year learning important OHS protocols, workplace wellbeing practices and applying these skills to real-life case studies.  Journeyed to the Trades Hall Union to learn more about the rights of young employees and processes to follow if they feel their rights are not being upheld by their employers.

Throughout term 2, students began to further develop their communication and collaboration skills in constructing a podcast on important community issues of gambling harm and graffiti.

The VCE VM students have also embarked on three weeks of workplace learning throughout the year to gain insights into different industries they are interested in pursuing for their future careers, learning valuable life skills, and further developing their universal power skills of communication, collaboration, organisation and problem solving. Finally, they presented all their knowledge and skills in the form of a portfolio to showcase their skills and achievements. A massive effort by these students in challenging themselves in order to gain knowledge and understanding of the various different workplaces they may find themselves in one day.

ongratulations on a successful year.
